Lucky

For me, the synonym of being lucky is to find a four-leaf-clover in the garden.

(I found really a lot of them in my life - so I guess I am a darling of fortune, right?)

And to show you it's really easy to find a four-leaf clover, just take a look - I took this picture in our garden:

Last week I had luck and found a stampset on E.b.a.y - Germany  which I was searching for ages. It is an old discontinued from Stampin Up which has never been sold officially in Germany. So to find this online is really like finding a four leaf clover...

Yesterday it arrived in my mailbox and I promptly made this card:

Anyone out there who need a little bit of luck? Please leave a comment and my card will be send out to you...

Happy stamping!

Birthday card for Vicky

This is a birthday card I made a while ago for my friend Vicky.

I made this card when the weather wasn't like May - the last two weeks it was quite cold and rainy. So I needed some spring colours to get my mind up.

I used old stamps I had for ages. Coloured the lines of the sentiment with pencils to add more sunny colours to this card.

Unfortunately, the U.S. background stamps (Stampin Up, Hero Arts, ...) don't fit to the german standard card size. They leave a small gap on two of four sides. Our standard card size (A6) is 14,8 cm x 10,5 cm (about 5 5/8 x 4 1/4 inches) so I needed to cheat. I stamped the background image horizontal on the vertical card and used a small scrap of embossed paper to mask the edge.

Hope the card arrived save in my friends mailbox. But I am sure it had. Usually, the german mail office is really reliable.

Happy stamping!

Stamps: Stampin Up background (retired), Hero Arts sentiment (maybe retired?)
Embossing folder: Stampin up (I suspect it retired, too)
Inks: Memento
Pencils: Faber Castell
Paper: Papyrus

More Flowers

Playing along with some more flower stamps for the OLS - challenge.
#1:
using only the yellow and red In Colors, except for the green sentiment.

#2:
using all five  SU- InColors, sentiment on the left side

 #3:
using again all five SU InColors, but sentiment is centered.

Hmmmm I think I like # 3 most. What about you? Please let me know. Thanks.

In case you wonder: the sentiment is german and means "many, many thanks". It's from SU, too. Some of their sets are translated into german. which is really great.

Have a great saturday, happy stamping!

Flower card #4

Here I used another stamp of the SU stamp set again but tried some different colours:

There are 6 stamps in this set - this is the second one I use. Guess I should give the other four also a try (but they won't fit to the flower theme challenge).

Thanks for looking.

Flower card #3

This is another flower card I made for the challenge over at One Layer Simplicitiy blog.

Now tell me, isn't this really clean and simple? Oh I love it. Some years ago I would't believe I could finish a card with such less images and such much white space... But since I found Susan Raihalas blog I really love everything clean-and-simple and try to use this technique more often.

Thanks Susan for your inspiration!

Last weekend I re-organized my rubber stamps and now, all my wooden Stampin Up stamps are down in the cellar. My stamping room is still in our first floor so there are more than 30 steps between. Seems to be inefficient but be be honest, the opposite is true.

Before, when my stamps were in my stamping room, they were seperated in many different boxes, shelfs and storage systems. I was always searching for a specific set and often didn't find it in time and quit my search and stamped with something instead (which was very frustrating).

Now, the wooden SU stamps are all together in four IKEA racks, alphabetical sorted - one movement and I get the right stamp set - PERFECT! OF course, for every stamp set I need to go down in the cellar, but this is like using my stepper - but much more fun.

And my stamping room is more organized, cleaned up and nice and tidy. Hope I will keep this condition *smile*

In case you want to see some pictures, leave a comment :-)

Have a nice saturday, happy stamping

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #5: Fabulous Flowers (#2)

This is my second card for the  OLS blog.

I did the same stamping but changed the colouring technique:

Instead of using alcohol markers I coloured the flowers with distress inks this time. Totally different result ;-)

But I am sure I will do some more flower stamping. I do have quite a lot of flower stamps and all of them are calling my name :-)

Stamps: Magenta (flowers), Hero Arts (sentiment)
Ink: Memento, Ditress inks

 Thanks for looking.

Have a nice day,

Sandra (Sunny)

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #5: Fabulous Flowers

On the OLS blog, the theme for May is flowers. Much easier than the last one, smile.

So here is the first card I made for this challenge:

I coloured the flowers with alcohol markers. Both - the focal image and the sentiment -  are discontinued stamps, I suspect. At least I bought them years ago...

Stamps: Magenta (flowers), Hero Arts (sentiment)
Ink: Memento

 Thanks for looking.

Have a nice day,

White storks

Last weekend, when we were on the way to my daughters horseback riding class we saw these cute guys and gals in the field which bordered to the road:

Not ONE, but a total of SIX white storks in our small village, YEAH! (sorry, can't get all six storks on one photo).

Here is a close up of two of them:

They are really rare and I have never seen more than one of them in real life, so taking pictures of a group of six white storks is really like hitting the jackpot :-) Other people thought the same - dotzens of cars were promptly stopping and their driver were taking pictures - like me ;-) Luckily there were no car accidents :)

I know that a single pair of storks is breeding every year quite near to us (about 20 km - 12 miles) but I have never seen them live. Only through the webcam... so this is really something special for me.

In case you are interest in the webcam, just take a look here. The page is in german but the link goes directly to the webcam, so german language skills are not necessary. But if you are intereset: Right now, three of the eggs are hatched :)

Have a great day,

Sandra (Sunny)
