Using Your Scraps

I really dislike to waste any paper.

Usually I use only tiny pieces of paper when I want to use some framelits or punches but this time I used a full card base to cut my framelits I needed for an other project (wedding card- forget to show *sorry*).

So this blue card base is the leftover piece and I wanted to made a card with it. I used a half sheet of white card stock, marked the inside with a pencil so I know exactly where to stamp and used the coordnating stamp set for the framelits set. Softy erased my pencil lines and glued the white cardstock to the inside of the blue card base so the hole of the framelits is covered.

Then I coloured the sentiment lightly with some distress ink and my waterbrush. Of course, the card needed some decorations. So I used another stamp set and stamped the flowers in blue, orange and punched them with their matching punch.

The flower center is another small punch.Coloured some clear rhinestones with alcohol markers and mounted all together.

I don't know why but coloured cardstock isn't compatible with "clean and simple" for me. So I usually ended up with a lot of things on my cards *sigh* Guess I should ask Susan for some coaching...

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin Up
Ink: Memento, Stampin Up, Distress
Punches/Framelits: Stampin Up
Additional: Foam Tape, Rhinestones, Alcohol markers

Coloured Cardstock

I am really into the clean and simple style. But as my stamping room has a lot of coloured cardstock as well I try to use some of it every now and then.Ususally it ends with some not so clean and simple card style :-)

Here I used some dark chocolate card stock as the card base:

I stamped the splatter stamp with a golden ink pad directly on the card base and mounted my "focal image" with some foam tape on it.

Stamps:
Stampin Up (French Foliage)
Inkpads:
Stampin up, Distress, Brilliance Galaxy Gold
Paper:
noname out of my basket

Thanks for looking,

Another small gift card

I made another small gift card using my brand new embossing folder. Well, I am sure that the folder itself isn't brand new, but I was searching for some not so small dots like the one I already have and found this one in our local craft store.

Sigh. I can't never leave the craft store without buying at least ONE new embossing folder, smile. They are my personal heaven. (Better not to tell you that last time -last friday-  I bought more than one folder *g*)

The embossing folder of Cuttlebug are still my most favourite of all. They are cheap (about half the prize of the SU folder) and the results are really great. They don't break the paper like some of the old SU folder do.

I also like the embossing folders of Sizzix and can't cardly wait for the new designs by Stephanie Ackerman. Hope they will be available here oversea SOON.

Back to my card.

I used several Stamps by Stampin Up (Mixed Bunch and Vintage Vogue stamp sets) .

Have a nice day,

the opposite of clean and simple

Ok, every now and then I want to stamp something not so clean and not so simple.

Even I still reduce the embelishment to a minimum - owing to the  german mailing cost : to send a card with those many layers of paper and tons of embelishment would cost a fortune *sigh*

This is the card I came up with:

Hm... the colours don't show up well. Sorry!

I used Distress inks (first and second generation stamping) and the light green paper isn't that gaudy in real.

Stamps:
Stampin Up - "Zeitlos" (german set name -  I think the original name is "Vintage Vogue")
Inks:
Memento Tuxedo black
Distress Frayed Burlap, Victorian Velvet
Paper:
Papyrus (white), noname (light green)
Other Supplies:
Framelits (Stampin Up), Scissors, Foam tape, brads.

Have a nice day,

Sandra

Poppy stamp

I do rarely colouring my stamped images. Usually I don't have the time (or patience?) for it.

Although I am really not that good in colouring with alcohol markers I like the style as long as the card still fits to "clean and simple".

I think even some cheaper markers than copics work nice. The Rotbart Delta markers cost only about 1/5 of a Copic marker and in my humble opinion they turned out great:

Sorry the picture is so dark. I made it yesterday evening right after sunset. The sentiment is german and means "All the Best".

I mounted my focal image on a white card base so the bleeding ink won't show through the back. The bleeding through process can be avoid with the correct paper - Copic do offer some. But for me, it is too pricey so I used my Papyrus Paper, which I have on hand.

Stamps:
Hero Arts (Delicate blossoms)
Heindesign (german company - sentiment)
Markers:
several Delta markers (Rotbart)

Have a nice sunday,

Faux Neon Flowers

I am really not into that Neon-hype and wouldn't spend any money for those inkpads.

But yesterday I was shopping some school supplies for my kids and one thing I bought was a set with four neon text markers.

I don't know what the hell came over me but I really wanted to make a card whith these vibrant colours. Yikes!

This card was really easy and super fast to made. Less than 5 minutes from start to finish!

I scribbled the neon markers on some piece of scrap, let it dry and stamped the flower on top. Used the matching flower punch to cut them out and adhere them to the stamped background with some foam pad for dimension. Added rhinestones to the center for some bling - done!  :-)

I think it is a great way to get into some of the new trends without spending additional money. The markers were necessary - so no money added on top.

Great to use things you already have.

Stamps: MSE (background), Stampin Up (flower)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black,
Punch: Stampin Up
Miscellaneous: neon text markers, rhinestones, foam pad, Corner Chomper

Have a great day,

Four In A Row #1: By definiton background

I decided to do something new :-)

I just realized that I stamped for over 14 years. Started in summer 2000.

There are really many stamps in my little stampin room and some of them really want to get more attention.

So I will made a new post: Four In A Row.

This means I will use one stamp (or stamp set) and make at least four new cards with it and share them with you. I am inspired by the "Use you Stamp Challenge" by Susan Raihala and hope that with this new post (which hopefully will be filled by me every week) I will speed up the process of using all these unused stamps :-)

Feel free to participate in this "challenge" and do something similar on your blog. Leave a comment with your link and I will visit you there ;-)

So let's get started.

For my first Four In A Row I used this background stamp by Stampin Up:

Card #1:

Card #2:

Card #3:

Card #4:

Stamp: By Defintion (Stampin Up)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Stampin Up and "no name"
Dies and Punches: Stampin Up

Mood when Done: HAPPY!

Have a great day,

Another quick birthday card

Well, to be honest I should refill my basket with Christmas cards but as it is really hot and humid I can't stand any snowflakes or Christmas trees...

So I made another quick birthday card:

Oh, I love this fonts! Wish there would be more words or even sentiments in this stamps set...

Stamps are from Doodlebug Design, inked with Memento, coloured with Distress ink pads.

Have a great day,

Sandra

Quick Birthday card

I am always low on birthday card and sending them out just in time has to be one of my goals. So I try to have a bunch of card "ready to go".

This is a card I have just made, using some old stamps. Can't remember where I bought them. So I have them really long...

I love these sketched stamps. They really cheer me up :-)

Colored them with several Distress inks.

Stamps are from Stampendous ("birthday brackets")

Small gift card

Another card I made a while ago, which I haven't shown you yet.

It is a small card, only half of a standard A6 size (about 2 7/8 x 4 1/8 inch).

I used some old stamps, the main images is already retired but I don't know if the sentiment is still available or not. Had it for ages :-)

I used non-SU paper but the yellow is really close to their new "Hello Honey" in real. The green is something between Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz and Gumball Green.

Still have way to much paper  of the time "before" SU was available here in Germany. Need to get rid of it *sigh*- Any suggestions?

I coloured the image with Distress ink pads.

Stamps:
Stampin up - A Flower for All Season (retired)
Hero Arts (sentiment)

Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black
several Distress ink pads (for colouring)

Have a great day, thanks for looking.

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #7: Wave the Flag (#3)

Well, all good things come in three, right? So here is my card #3 for the OLS Challenge #7.

Here is the front of the card:

This time, I also stamped something inside:

And a try to show both together:

I am really happy that Stampin Up decided to translate some of their stamps into german. Especially some of the "golden oldies" (generation of my parents and grandparents) are happy to receive a card with a german sentiment on it :-)

It's only a pity that Stampin Up stopped to print the english stamp set name right beside the german one in their cataloque. Makes it a little bit tricky for me to find out the english set name :-(

So whenever I used the wrong english stamp name, please leave me a comment so I can correct it. THANKS!

Stamps:
Stampin Up - One in a million (?), (retired)
Stampin Up - Off the grid (retired, too)
Stampin Up - Petite Petals

Inks: Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Lady Bug (all Memento)

Paper: Papyrus

Thanks for looking.

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #7: Wave the Flag (#2)

Here is card  #2 for the OLS Challenge #7:

This time I used the paper in portrait-style instead of landscape-style, it is top folded.

I replaced the butterfly stamp by a circle stamp. Sentiment and colours are the same than on my first card.

Stamps:
Flamingo-Art (german company)  - sentiment
Hero Arts - circle stamp

Inks: Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Lady Bug (all Memento)

Paper: Papyrus

Thanks for looking.

Sandra

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #7: Wave the Flag (#1)

I haven't stamped alot during the last weeks, I was quite busy at work *sigh*

But of course I wanted to participate in the OLS Challenge #7 and just made a bunch of cards today.

Well, the german flag is black, red and gold (not yellow) and during the last three weeks a lot of things here in our country have been decorated in these colours. Maybe some of you noticed that we won the soccer world championship in brazil last week :-)

Here is card #1 I made with these colours:

I used an old sentiment stamp and a quite new butterfly. Both haven't seen much ink yet so it's time to use them, smile!

Stamps:
 Flamingo-Art (german company)  - sentiment
Stampin up - Butterfly

Inks: Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Lady Bug (all Memento)

Paper: Papyrus

Thanks for looking.

Sandra
